Gallows End Promopic 2009

01. EMF: HI, it’s super cool to have an interview with you, after ways meet us on myspace.  For you new CD is planed the release April 2009. What kind of facts can you tell us so far ?

Thord: Hi Stephanie! First of all we want to thank you for showing interest in Gallows End, it means a lot to a young, upcoming band!
So back to your question, as far as the album goes we don’t have a set release date just yet, we are currently recording the album and so far we have done all guitars and are working on bass-tracks as we speak.
Drumrecording will hopefully start in a week or so, and vocals will be recorded between the drum sessions so hopefully we will have it ready for the label before the end of March.
Working title for the album is The Unborne Flag.

02. EMF:  Your current situation this way only a promo CD on the market so may be you can introduce Gallows End to the readers?

Thord: Gallows End is a heavy metal band from Arvika/Karlstad in Sweden, the band was formed a about a year and a half ago and like you said we have a promo CD out since about a year ago.
The reception from fans and media has been great and we are very excited to have the opportunity to deliver a debut album this spring, we are very confident that people won’t be disappointed.

03. EMF:  Your music, is pure power melodic metal, what’s is you important for you music?

Thord: Well, we really don’t have any ambitions to break new ground with our music, our main goal is to write good quality music and have a good time while doing it you know.

Peter: the feeling must be there, and at least I have to love the songs, or I’d be bored playing it. I write music that I’d like to listen to myself.

04. EMF:  What means now the deal for you with Farvahar Records, LLC, ?

Thord: We are really looking forward to work with Farvahar Records, people like Datis and Lea from Farvahar records is a rare breed these days and that’s why we decided to team up with them.
They do a lot of ground work when it comes to promoting the bands on the label, building up a great network around the band and most important of all, they’re both down to earth fans
of metal music. We believe in working with people who is equally hungry for this as we are and they have certainly proven that.

05. EMF:  What were your influences for writing the Songs on the new Album?

Thord: It’s always hard to name influences, I guess that’s easier from an outside point of view but I would say that we’ve taken inspiration from all the great bands of the ´80s like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Accept among many others
and tried to blend in some more modern styles of bands like Gamma Ray, Primal Fear, Sinergy etc. I think we have gathered a bunch or really good songs spanning from heavy mid-tempo songs up to
almost thrash-oriented metal. Our motto is to make fast, aggressive yet melodic heavy metal.

Peter: My personal influences comes from lots of things around me, and musically the 80’s metal scene, and newer power metal music.

06. EMF: How is your current situation in Sweeden?

Thord:  The metal scene in Sweden right now is both very good and very bad at the same time, the live scene is pretty rough these days which is strange for a country that exports an almost endless amount of good metal bands
I guess the fact that there are so many bands competing for the gigs make it very hard to do gigs on a regular basis in Sweden, but that’s the way it goes and you’ll just have to work a little harder.

07. EMF:  What  your situation and plans of to day’s point of view?

Peter: At the moment we are working on the album, rehearsing and writing songs (for future releases). Our plans at this moment is to get out there and let people get to know
the band and our members, and to get the album out, and most important, to get up on stage and have a blast.

08. EMF:  What kind of expectations do you have on the success of the CD or the success of the band?

Thord: Our expectations are pretty high I would say, we have gotten a lot of good reviews, loads of airplay around the world and hopefully we can keep on building a fan base for the band.

Peter: I believe that we have a strong album with great songs, and I really hope that the fans will like it, and buy it… =) For the success of the band there are many things that must be considered, the record label’s and distributor’s work are
one of the most important parts, and we can’t control everything, so at the moment we can only hope for the best and work very hard to get there..

09. EMF:  Can you give a view of privat background in the band ?

Thord: We have all been playing music for along time now, we all have regular jobs but our goal for the future is definitely to be able to play music as professionals.
If you work hard and put your heart and soul into what you do great things will happen along the way and that’s what we try to do every day.

10. EMF:  A typical question of my Fan Page, called Eternal Metal Flame, do you belief that anything could last for eternity or do you belief in eternity at all?

Peter: Well, eternity is a really really really really long time. I hope there are things that can last that long, but sadly I don’t think so. Everything has an end, that’s just the way it is.

11. EMF:   On myspace we can here the Songs of  your Demo, so how important is myspace and internet promotion for you ?

Thord: I think Internet in general and especially myspace, trig, last FM and these kinds of sites are a great promotional tool for bands around the world, the possibility to interact with fans, promoters, labels etc Is just great.
These days you can get a hold of an album almost before the damn thing is recorded you know, or log on to youtube and check out videos and live performances from all over the world.
And the fact that everything is so accessible to anyone causes a lot of the mystery around bands, new albums etc to get kind of lost,  which I think is kind of sad in a way.
But in general Internet is a great thing.

12. EMF:   What’s your agrumnet that people should discover Gallows End ?

Peter: Well, it’s pure fucking metal, do we need any other argument? ;)

Thord: Hehe…Gallows End delivers pure fucking heavy metal, fast and furious, heavy and melodic and with a lot of heart and passion into what we do.
The bands music spans from melodic power metal to thrash/speed metal and everything in between. So if you’re into any form of metal
Gallows End will provide the songs to please you!!

13. EMF:   At the end of the Interview, some words left for the fans?
